This triple bunk bed was designed to fit three brothers in one room. Yet it also became a gathering/play/performance area for the entire family.
The back slatted walls of the bunk beds form an elevated fort at the corner where they meet. The smooth green face of the bunks provides a contrasting skin to those bones. This fort is accessed under the third bed, where a space is retained for storing toys, a magnetic/chalk board, and theatrical performances. The slatted fort also acts as a lantern for the room.
This kind of furniture blurs architecture, furniture and toys into one experience.
